Hokkaido
HIGHLIGHTS
Embark on our Hokkaido Tour, a six-day journey that traverses rugged Eastern Hokkaido. This region offers an extraordinary winter adventure, pristine scenery and wildlife, rich culture, and delectable food and sake.
Begin your journey with ice fishing on Lake Abashiri. Drive through the vast snow-covered plains to reach the charming fishing village of Rausu, nestled on the Shiretoko Peninsula, a National Park and World Natural Heritage site. Here, you can indulge in the unique flavors of uni and Rausu Kombu, and perhaps even see majestic Steller's Sea Eagles on a short coastal cruise.
Continue your winter adventure by stepping onto the frozen bay in Notsuke, where Ezo Shika deer roam freely. Then, enjoy a short nature walk with our friend, Hiromi, by Lake Kussharo. After the walk, you will have the opportunity to learn about his Ainu heritage, adding a cultural dimension to your journey.
Kushiro is a good-sized city and a perfect base for exploring Tsurui, known for its habitat for red- crowned Tancho cranes during the winter, and Akkeshi, the oyster town.
Enjoy breathtaking scenery, specially curated sake and the freshest of seafood on this Hokkaido adventure.
Join us for a Hokkaido Experience like no other.
*Please note - many activities and also the availability of Uni is dependant on the weather conditions.
The group will travel from Haneda to Memanbetsu on Monday 3rd - we can assist with booking the flight if needed. The tour starts at Memanbetsu Airport and finishes at Kushiro Airport. Travel to Memanbetsu Airport on the first day and from Kushiro on the last day are not included in the tour.
